Keeping friends after you say "I do"

In a May 8th Associated Press story in the South Bend Tribune, Friendships Can Be Altered by Marriage, journalist Maggie Koerth-Baker makes the point that nurturing friendships as a pair is often be far more challenging than when you’re a single flying solo.

 

She offers four tips to keep friendships on track in the context of marriage. Remember:

 

 

 

  • Quality is more important than quantity.
  • You don't have to like all of your spouse's friends.
  • Make your single friends feel welcome.
  • Couples need time apart.
