Celebrate National Women’s Friendship Day – Today, September 17, 2007

Kappa Delta Sorority, the sponsor of National Women’s Friendship Day, has compiled a list of ideas for telling our friends how much they mean to us today! I‘ve listed the best of them and added a few ideas of my own:

  • Send a short note to your best friends telling them how much they mean to you.
  • Send e-cards to five female friends you haven’t spoken to in a month.
  • Call a friend and tell her why you are celebrating the day.
  • Using email or snail mail, send a photo and short note to a faraway friend.
  • Invite a friend to watch the Emmy Awards with you tonight.
  • Make plans to cruise TJ Maxx with a friend.
  • Go see a movie or make reservations for dinner with a friend.
  • Call a friend and arrange to chat today over a manicure appointment.
  • Use classmates.com or reunion.com to reconnect with a childhood school friend with whom you've lost contact.
  • Send flowers to your mother, sister or other relative who has also been a good friend to you.
  • Plan a weekend with your former college roommate in your college town.
  • Make plans with a good friend to volunteer at a women's shelter, soup kitchen or child advocacy program.
  • Add a quote about female friendship to your autosignature.
  • Make a new friend! It's easy - just smile, say hello, and follow-up with coffee.
  • Contribute to research on female friendships by filling out the Fractured Friendship Survey.
  • Send your friends my previous blog entry on National Women’s Friendship Day.
  • Leave a comment on this blog expressing your feelings today to a friend and email her the URL.
